Polished Overlays

Decorative Concrete Stain and Polish Systems, Inc. has the answer for the floors that have too many flaws to polish. Our self leveling overlay is a green hydraulic construction material far superior in most respects to portland cement. It is a rapid set, high performance, hydraulic cement that reduces CO2 emissions by 32% over conventional portland cement. It is used as a topping over existing concrete and reaches 3500 psi within 4 hours and 7500 psi within 28 days.

Our overlay system can be integrally colored, acid stained or dyed. Unlike other overlay products, it will accept the Retroplate System extremely well. Because this overlay system can be densified and polished, the hardness and abrasion resistance increases to further improve its performance.

The floor is cleaned and prepared to accept the overlay. The self leveling overlay is placed by trained applicators and allowed to cure for at least 4 hours. The floor can then be acid stained, dyed and polished. This self leveling overlay material when densified and polished by itself creates a beautiful finished floor with a gloss finish and a hardness of over 7500 psi.
We have installed this polished overlay system in universities, office buildings, large government buildings, entrances to buildings, handicap ramps and many other areas. When a high performance polished concrete surface is desired and can’t be achieved with the existing concrete, this product is second to none. It will create a new floor with outstanding results in appearance and performance.
As with polished concrete, the maintenance is very important to keep the floor looking and performing well for many years of use.
